ABSTRACT

We address the problem of 'coordination collapse' in large-scale, decentralized multi-agent systems. We introduce Symphony-Coord, a protocol that enables emergent coordination through local communication and a shared 'Stigmergy-inspired' environmental state. Unlike centralized orchestrators, Symphony-Coord allows agents to independently discover optimal roles and behaviors based on environmental cues. We demonstrate its effectiveness in complex, dynamic scenarios such as disaster response simulation and urban traffic management, where it outperforms centralized baselines in resilience and scalability.
