Attendemia ("Attendemia", "we", "us", "our") provides a social network for learners and researchers to share thoughts, leave reviews on papers and articles, and connect with other people. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our website and services (the "Services".

Attendemia is a platform for serious learners and researchers to communicate. All external content referenced on the platform (e.g., papers, blogs, courses, tutorials) is linked from public sources. We DO NOT own, host, or claim copyright over this external content, nor do we use it for AI training purposes.

How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Services.
  • Personalize your experience and show relevant content and recommendations.
  • Facilitate social features like following, commenting, voting, and activity feeds.
  • Maintain safety, security, and integrity, including preventing abuse and spam.
  • Communicate with you about updates, security notices, or support. We respect everyone's attention and schedule; thus, we exclusively use email as our primary communication channel on a must-have basis to serve a global community.
  • Attendemia is a human-centric platform. We DO NOT send automated marketing information. Automated emails are limited to weekly digests only if you opt-in.
  • Measure performance and debug issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

How We Share Information

Attendemia will never collect, harvest, or resell your contacts, reading history, or private notes. Furthermore, we explicitly promise never to use your personal data, private content, or usage history to train AI models. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share data with AI or data companies. We share information in the following situations:

  • With other users, when you post content or update your public profile.
  • With service providers that help us host, operate, or secure the Services.
  • For legal reasons, such as complying with law or responding to lawful requests.
  • In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger or acquisition.

AI Bots and Crawlers

Attendemia intentionally structures public pages for GEO/AEO so compliant AI agents can index and reference high-signal public content for learner benefit and broader signal distribution. This does not change our commitment to user privacy. We do not provide personal information to AI or data companies, and we strictly prohibit scraping private/user data for AI training.

If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required by law.

Attendemia uses an attention budget to help you manage the time you spend learning and verify readers to filter comments from verified readers only.We DO NOT sell attns or convert attentions to dollars.

  • Each account receives 300 attentions (attns) per week for free, mapping to approximately 5 hours of learning time.
  • Each attn represents one minute of study content referenced on Attendemia.
  • Extra hours (attns) are available for free at any time if you send a request to support@attendemia.com.
  • Unused attns expire at the end of the current week and do not roll over.
  • Your balance refreshes to 300 attns at the start of each new week.
  • Ledger entries are updated lazily when you check Attention History or proceed through checkout.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and update your account information.
  • Delete your account, subject to legal or operational retention requirements.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing where applicable.
  • Request a copy of your data where applicable.

International Users

If you access the Services from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be transferred and processed across borders. We take steps to protect information as required by applicable law.

Children

Account Deletion
