These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Attendemia (the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

About the Services

Attendemia is a social network for learners and researchers to share thoughts, leave reviews on papers and articles, follow people, and connect with others. Core features on the platform (including following, commenting, and the checkout process) are FREE forever. Paid tiers are available for advanced users and organizational workspaces to help cover operational costs.

Privacy, Communication, and Data Non-Exploitation Promise

Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information. By using the Services, you agree to the Privacy Policy.

Because we respect your attention and schedule, we exclusively use email as our primary communication channel on a must-have basis to support our broader, global community. We are committed to your security and will never ask for sensitive personal information such as phone numbers, physical addresses, or government documentation.

Attendemia will never collect, harvest, or resell your contacts, reading history, or private notes. Furthermore, we explicitly promise never to use your personal data, private content, or usage history for AI training purposes. Your data belongs to you, and our platform respects that boundary.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the authority to agree to these Terms.

Account Security

• You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials.
• Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
• We may require you to update or re-verify account information.

Your Account

• You are responsible for your account and any activity under it.
• You must provide accurate information and keep it updated.
• You must safeguard your login credentials and notify us of unauthorized use.

User Content and External References

• You retain ownership of the content you post (such as reviews and comments).
• You grant Attendemia a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating the Services.
• You are responsible for your content, including that it does not violate law or third-party rights.
• You grant other users the ability to view and engage with your public content.

External References: Attendemia is a platform for serious learners and researchers to communicate. All external content (e.g., papers, blogs, courses, tutorials) is referenced from public sources. We DO NOT own or host this external content, nor do we use it for AI training purposes.

Content Standards

• Post thoughtful, honest, and respectful contributions.
• Do not post confidential or personal data about others without permission.
• Do not post plagiarized material or infringe intellectual property rights.

Acceptable Use

• Do not post unlawful, harmful, or abusive content.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or misuse the Services.
• Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Respect community norms and the academic nature of the platform.

Moderation and Enforcement

We may review content and activity to enforce these Terms and keep the community safe. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms. If you encounter abusive, scalable spam, or fraudulent behavior, please report it immediately to abuse@attendemia.com.

AI Bots and Crawlers

We welcome AI bots and crawlers to access public content for knowledge sharing. This permission does not extend to private data or account information, and it does not allow harvesting or resale of personal data.

Third-Party Services

The Services may integrate with third-party services for authentication or infrastructure. Your use of those services may be governed by their separate terms and policies.

The Services may include links to third-party websites or content. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.

Feedback

If you submit feedback, you grant us the right to use it without restriction or compensation.

Attention Budget (attns) Policy

Attendemia uses an internal metric called "attns" (attentions) to facilitate the checkout process. This system is designed solely to help users manage their learning time and to verify readers (increasing the signal-to-noise ratio in comments). We DO NOT sell attns, nor can they be converted into real-world currency (dollars, euros, etc.). They are strictly a non-financial, functional tool for learning management.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms or if required to protect the safety and integrity of the platform. You may stop using the Services at any time.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account. Some content may remain visible if needed to preserve the integrity of discussion threads or to comply with legal obligations.

Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Attendemia will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Attendemia harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Attendemia is headquartered, without regard to conflict of law rules.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms and revise the effective date. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
