ABSTRACT

One of the most persistent failure modes in autonomous systems is the infinite loop where a process becomes stuck continuously re executing a failed call. We introduce temporal grounding a novel cognitive framework that grants systems an internal sense of computational time and execution history. By implementing a frustration metric that scales non linearly with repeated state visits the system is forced to autonomously break out of loops and escalate the issue. Empirical results show a massive reduction in stalled executions across open ended tasks.
